Insulin pump manufacturing business Asante Solutions is closing its corporate doors in Sunnyvale, CA, and the Asante Snap will presently be a diabetes device of the past.
The news broke late Friday, when Asante's Theater director of Customer Care and Reimbursement Gil Bautista posted this announcement on the company's site:
"We regret to inform you that as of Fri, Whitethorn 15, 2015, Asante Solutions, maker of the Snap Insulin Pump, will… no longer embody in business. If you are a Snap substance abuser, please contact lens your healthcare supplier with whatever nonsubjective questions you take over. We haven't been able to reach anyone at Asante for comment or more details, but we did receive an email former Friday that Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Solutions — makers of Animas — apparently dispatched bent on Asante's cay contacts and constituents, most transitioning existent Snap customers to the Animas Vibe that merely came out at class's offse. The email states, in start out:
"Conscionable before this announcement, the leadership of Asante specifically asked Animas to aid their customers direct this modulation, and we've in agreement to help.
"We understand how disappointing and thwarting IT can be for patients to unexpectedly have to go through the process of finding a newly insulin pump and company that will meet their needs. Speculation is that investors pulled the punch. This is especially disappointing granted Asante's reinvigorated approach to creating a customizable insulin pumping experience, along with it's interest in developing talking pump technology, and encouraging open-source data-sharing.
